Hi I'm Nate

I live in Arizona where I work as a RN with Native Americans. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of two beautiful little girls, who make me very happy. I am lucky to have a wonderful wife to help raise them. My wife and I are both Registered Nurses. We went to school in Oregon together and worked in the same department of a large teaching hospital for the first 3 1/2 years. We like to spend time outdoors. We are fortunate enough to live a block from a ponderosa pine national forest. We are surround by nature. I love it. I am starting a Masters program in nursing. I hope to get involved in Public Health in the next 5-10 years. I love to help people in get to a better state of living. I feel that Public Health would help me to help even more people.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both Momons. My mother joined the Church when she was a teenager. She has told me that she always knew that Christ was real and felt closer to Him as she learned more about the Church. When I was a teenager, I have been invited several times to pray to God to find out for myself if the Church and the Book of Mormon are true. I was awake late, by myself, on night. I had been reading in the Book of Mormon and decided to pray and ask God if it was true. When I asked the question, I felt peaceful and comforted. It was like when I would come home from a difficult day at school, and my mother greated me with a hug. It was a time when the stress would instantly fade and I felt the world was okay again. Since that time, I have not had reason to doubt what I felt. That answer to my prayer has supported my continued beliefs in this Church. I have similar feeling about Joseph Smith and the what God did through him. I am gratefull that I have been in this Church. I fully believe that it is the only place where we can be lead back to God and Christ. I find peace as I continue to participate in this Church/religion. I feel much more love for God and for Jesus because of my beliefs. I feel more peace in life, despite the bad there is in the world. I am grateful to feel peace that comes through Jesus Christ. I know that He forgives us and that we can become more like Him, because of the love He has for us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do simple things each day, such as pray and read scriptures. As a family, we have been reading The Book of Mormon. Because we have small children, it is a slow process, but I feel good about what I'm doing. I try to be nice and polite to other people and to teach my daughters to do the same. I also have the opportunity to work with the missionaries in my area. I mostly help them to have appointments with people in the area in order to share a spiritual message. We try to share with The Book of Mormon so that everyone can have exposure to it and enjoy it as much as I do.
