Hi I'm Caleb Young

I'm from Farmington Utah. I'm serving a volunteer mission in Southern California for the Mormon church.

About Me

I'm absolutely huge into music. I feel that art, whether it be music, sculpture, painting, poetry, etc., is what makes the world what it is. The human power of expression and the creative process of bringing ideas to life is something that everyone can find joy in. However we can express ourselves or our ideas is what makes us different from each other, but it also what can bring us together. I love skateboarding, too. To me, skateboarding has always been a way of expressing myself. It's a way to let out who I am. I have played competitive basketball, baseball, football, and volleyball, as well. I've been into sports and video games, board games and school clubs; basically anything that I've been introduced to. I think that everyone should be able to enjoy what they do without having to face criticism from anyone. I'm studying Psychology at BYU, but have put that on hold for a couple years to serve a mission in California for my church. I love meeting and getting to know people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes sense to me. I try to look at things in my life from every angle and viewpoint, and what I'm taught as a Mormon makes sense. It's really comforting to have an idea of where we come from, why we are here, and where we are going after this life. It doesn't feel right to me to consider this life being all that there is, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints brings so much comfort to me. I know that God loves us. I have personally felt that in times of struggle in my life. I know that he cares for us. I believe that it is the true church and I stand by its teachings. It has blessed my life and given me so much hope and comfort. When I have felt completely alone and hopeless, the only thing that brought me any solace at all was knowing that God is looking out for me and holding me up. Seeing all the art in the world, and the beautiful world itself, I can't believe that God doesn't exist. And I can't believe that he has stopped loving us, or stopped reaching out to us. I know that God cares. I have felt it in my life, and that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

To me, my faith is something that affects every part of my life. Right now I am serving a volunteer mission for my church in southern California for 2 years because I want everyone to know about the faith that has brought me joy more than anything else. One of the biggest things I try to do is treat everybody with love and kindness. It kills me when I see somebody who is sad, discouraged, alone, ridiculed, left out, or feeling anything negative. Everybody on this planet is a human being, and all of us are important to God. I try my hardest to keep the people around me happy and in positive spirits. That's what my faith is all about. Christ is my savior and redeemer, and I'm trying to be just like He was. I try to be a friend to everybody I see, and help other people be happy. I also volunteer my time to do what the church needs me to. Right now, that is being a missionary and sharing Christ's love and gospel around the state of California. In other times, I have taught Sunday School, led community service projects in my hometown, participated in planning and organizing activities for young men, doing lots of service, and being the best example I can be for people around me.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Caleb Young
The Book of Mormon is more evidence that Jesus Christ lived, and that He is God's son. Just like the Bible, the Book of Mormon is a compilation of writings and teachings from ancient prophets, but from the American continent. It is named after Mormon because he was the prophet who put the records together. God wants the best for his children. There were people on the American continent, and they needed love and direction just as much as the people we read about in the Bible did. God called and inspired prophets on the american continent, and they taught of Jesus Christ. They testify of His love for us, and His Atonement for us. They are evidence that Christ appeared to the people in the Americas. They support the Bible and provide greater evidence that Christ is our Savior. The Book of Mormon ends with a prophet promising us that we can know that the Book of Mormon is true, by the power of the Holy Ghost, if we sincerely read it and pray about it. Show more Show less
