Hi I'm Aaron

I am from the United States, I am currently serving in the Mexico City South mission.

About Me

Hello! I am Aaron. My hobbies are: playing piano, I've been playing piano since 2008; woodcarving, I've been doing that for about two years, it's been going wonderfully; working with my hands; running, mostly 5ks and 800 meter runs in competitions. I prefer long distance running; singing, I've been singing for several years. Just in choirs. I sing bass; and being happy. I just graduated high school in 2013. I attended an online high school for three years to graduate, and was homeschooled the rest of my life. I loved every minute of it. At the moment, I am in the Missionary Training Center (MTC,) preparing to serve my mission in the Mexico City South mission. It is difficult learning a new language!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because through this church, I have gained faith in many spiritual things. I have a firm belief that Jesus Christ lived. I know that he died for me, atoning for my sins, washing them completely clean for me. I know that Jesus Christ lives again! Because of Him, I know that I may be resurrected after death, being raised from mortality to immortality. I believe in Christ. In this church, I have learned and come to believe in the Book of Mormon. I know that it is a true testament of Jesus Christ, and is a true record of His church among the people in the Americas. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and translated the Book of Mormon through the power and authority of His priesthood. I believe the Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet today, and that he leads the church under the direction of Jesus Christ. I believe that I am a member of the one church that has all the truth from God, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am a Mormon because it feels right to me. I am a Mormon because I have received a witness telling me this is the true church.

How I live my faith

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. (Or LDS, or Mormon church.) To me, that means living the teachings of our prophets, both modern and ancient. Off the top of my head, that is to study the Word of God. To read His scriptures, to follow his commandments as closely as possible, and to pattern my life after that of Jesus Christ. That doesn't always work out for me, unfortunately. I am a mortal human being. I know only of one person who was perfect throughout his life, that person being Jesus Christ. I fall short of being like Him. But, instead of staying where I fall, I stand up. Repenting of my wrongdoings, and I strive to be better.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

I am a missionary right now. How is my mission being paid for? And how did I get all of my supplies for my mission? I bought all of the supplies myself with money I earned the summer previous to my mission, with a little bit of help from my parents. It was a big sacrifice for my parents and I, but I felt and still feel that it was quite worth it. To fund the rest of my mission, I am using the remainder of the money I earned this summer, again, with help from my parents, and also with some help from the members of my ward. A mission definitely is an expense, but I have been receiving a lot of help with it. Show more Show less
