Hi I'm Leah

I am a homemaker, play the piano, speak Spanish, and a mom of two beautiful children. I'm a mormon

About Me

I am wife to a wonderful, hard working man. This is my second marriage. Three years ago I had the blessing of becoming a mother and it has been the most amazing journey. For twelve years before that I thought I could not have children. During that time in my previous marriage we had fertility issues and three miscarriages. After my divorce I decided to put my life in order. This led me to an amazing husband and two beautiful boys. I love to play the piano and it is a race with my children to see who gets there first. I enjoy cooking for my family especially if they enjoy the meal. For me mealtime is one of the most cherished. I am also an amateur food gardener.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. Throughout my life I have often felt the calm peace that one associates with the Holy Ghost. I did not recognize that peace as the Holy Ghost until I was a young adult. I would hear people says "the Spirit is so strong" and I would look around wondering if I was the only one who could not feel it. When I realized that I was having this experience I decided that I wanted to recognize the Spirit too. After beginning a regular practice of prayer and scripture study, things that I had taken for granted all my life, I began to notice that the feelings I'd felt most of my life were the Spirit. Those feelings came more and more frequently. Now I know that the Holy Ghost is near and speaks to Heavenly Father's children. The guidance I receive helps me make correct choices and be hopeful in my personal struggles.

How I live my faith

On Sundays I play the organ for our sacrament meeting, which also involves choosing the hymns for the weekly program. I am also serving as the children's music director. I enjoy juggling between teaching the music and playing while we sing. Teaching the children has become one of the most exciting growing experiences I have ever had. My goal each week, in both my callings, is to help them feel the Spirit through music. Our children especially have such unique spirits that I try to help them take the Light of Christ home with them each week.
