Hi I'm Darryl

I grew up in Concord, California during the 1960's. I left home at age 16 for college, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an attorney, having practiced law for 33 years now. But more importantly, I am a father of five wonderful children, and nine (soon to be 10) beautiful grandchildren. I love spending time with my family and doing things together. We love live theater and spend family reunions at the Utah Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City. Our kids are now introducing their children to Shakespeare and other great playwrights. I love to travel and learn about other cultures, and my wife and I are now planning to spend a year and a half in Northern Italy serving as senior missionaries for the Church.

Why I am a Mormon

As a child, I marveled at the grandeur of the Universe. I looked at my hand and examined how it moved, and I wondered how such a complex creation could come to be without the guiding hand of a Supreme Being. I realized that such marvelous things that surround us could not just appear out of nowhere, without work and thought. I knew then, and know now, that there is a God who created the world, created us as His beloved children, and wants us to be happy. He wants us to learn from our earthly experiences, both good and bad, and He wants us to return to Him when our journey here on earth is finished. That is why I believe in God and His Son. I am a Mormon because I studied the restoration of the full Gospel, and I have prayed about the visit by God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, to the Prophet Joseph Smith, and I have received my own testimony that Joseph Smith had that vision, and that the full Gospel has been restored to the earth. I am thrilled to be a member of the Church, and to have living prophets and apostles on the earth today to lead and guide us on our earthly journey.

How I live my faith

After spending many years working with the youth and young single adults, my wife and I are now serving as Inner-City missionaries, working with a Hispanic branch located in Sandy, Utah. We love working with the young children, teaching them music and sharing with them scripture stories. We want to instill in them what we know to be true, and that is that we all have a Father in Heaven that knows us personally and loves us unconditionally. I try to live my faith so that when people see what I do, they realize that I believe in God and His Son, Jesus Christ, and that I am striving daily to keep His commandments and to do His will.
