Hi I'm Rachel

I live in Alaska. I am an army wife and a mother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and graduated from Utah State University. I have a degree in Landscape Architecture. I served a mission in Brazil. When I returned home I met my husband. We joined the Army. Now we live in Alaska and have a beautiful daughter. I stay home with our daughter and take care of our home and family. I love crafting, reading, and designing.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family, but it wasn't until my second semester in college that I gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I felt lonely and abandoned. I had a hard time feeling like anyone really cared for me. So, I decided to read the Book of Mormon and pray to know of it's truthfulness. If it were true, then the church I grew up in and knew so much about was also true and I had a giant family of believers all around me. I devoured the book and three weeks later I prayed. The most beautiful, peaceful feeling consumed me and I felt the love of God. I will never forget that moment. Now, when I face difficult situations or feel alone, I remember the grandeur of that feeling and remember that God knows me and loves me. I know this church is true!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by treating others with kindness as Jesus Christ would do. I serve other families in the army community by bringing them meals in times of need and being there for them in times of trouble and heartache. I also serve my fellow church members by helping with the little kids during church.
