Hi I'm Kristen

My family means the world to me. I love to sing. I am happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a missionary in the Canada Toronto Mission. I love to spend time with my family, friends, and I love meeting new people. My favorite sports are soccer, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, and every other active sport. I sing everywhere no matter what I am doing. I also love to play the piano, read, and try new things. I know that I am imperfect, I make mistakes a lot. But I know that my Heavenly Father loves me, He is proud of my efforts, and I strive each and every day to become more like my Savior. This brings me true happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives me purpose, it brings me peace, it keeps me safe, and it makes me eternally happy. I was born and raised in the church. While I am so grateful that this is the case, that I grew up in a loving family who centers their lives upon Christ, I know that it was my personal decision that I am a member of this church. My testimony is my own that I, personally, have searched and worked for. I do not rely on the testimony of others. I know that this gospel is true because I have chosen to live my life in accordance to the standards of the church. It brings me so much happiness. And I can tell the difference between when I am working to do what I know is right and when I am choosing to just float and live the easy life without the help of my God. I need God in my life in everything that I do. My strength comes from my Savior, Jesus Christ and His sacrifice. He knows me. He knows each of us individually. And He is there to bear us up according our own individual needs and circumstances. I have read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover and I know that it is the word of God. I know that Joseph Smith restored this gospel of Jesus Christ, and this is the only true church on the earth. I know that we are children of God and our mission is to find joy in this life and make our way back to live with Him again. I want that so badly and I will continue to work to reach that goal one day. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

The way I live my faith is I wear a necklace with the Salt Lake temple on it. I wear it every day to remind myself that I am a daughter of God, I have a purpose, and I am eternally loved. Not to mention I show my faith by the way that I smile! One of my favorite scriptures is Psalm 118:24, "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Every moment, every minute, every day is a gift from God, and the way I show my gratitude is by doing my best to smile and look on the bright side - no matter the current circumstance. Through my faith, I know that my trials are but a small moment, and that God will ALWAYS be there to pull me through as I put my faith and trust in Him. I live my faith by doing my part. It is one thing to believe that God is real, and that Christ took upon Himself all the sins of the world so that we might be saved. It is another thing to act upon that belief and show Christ my gratitude for His sacrifice. "Faith without works is dead." James 2:17 I live my faith by living God's commandments; by repenting of my sins; by forgiving others; by praying daily and devoting some time every day to study the scriptures; and by serving those around me. I am in no way perfect, and I will never be in this life. But I am living my faith by doing my best, and trusting in my Savior, Jesus Christ to take care of the rest.
