Hi I'm Krista

Canadian American. Lover of sports and music. Wife and stay at home mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Canada. I recently became an American citizen. I've played sports from the time I was a little kid. I enjoy anything outdoorsy - bike rides, hiking, camping, fishing, picnics, frisbee, bbq's, walks in the park, etc! Music has always been a big part of my life. I play the piano and guitar and love listening to all kinds of music. I love playing and watching sports. My favorite to play is basketball. I played basketball all through high school and played intramural basketball and floor hockey in college. I graduated from BYU. I married my best friend and now am a stay at home mom to our son. I love blogging, baking, digital scrap-booking, being goofy, and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents taught me the gospel all my life. I was baptized in the Church at 8 years old. I am continually building my testimony of the Savior and His gospel. I know the gospel is true. I love to live the commandments because when I do, I am happy. Everything in my life may not be going smoothly or the way I would like it, but when I am living the way God wants me to, I am happy. I have found strength, comfort, and joy through the Savior in the hardest times of my life, as well as the happiest times. Living the gospel allows me to have a better perspective on life, which helps tremendously in the hard times of life. I am grateful for the knowledge that families can be together forever. Death is not the end. I know there is life after death. I know that God and Jesus Christ love us and want us to be happy. I know the scriptures are the word of God. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I love to study the scriptures because it brings me closer to the Savior as I learn His teachings and try to follow His example. I know the gospel is true. I love to live it!

How I live my faith

I teach and work with the 12-13 year old young women in our ward. We read scriptures, watch videos, and discuss the doctrine of Christ together as a class. I have learned a lot from their insights and have been uplifted by their testimonies of Jesus Christ. We also have activities once a week to spend time together, develop talents, have fun and come closer to and learn of the Savior. I also visit a couple of women each month. I love the opportunity to chat and see how other people live their lives and worship the Savior. By visiting each month I am able to see their needs, lift them, and be uplifted in return. Each family has unique circumstances and ways of living, but we all share the need for the Savior.
