Hi I'm Cash Allred

I have grown up in a small town. I love sports and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old. I have grown up working on my family's small farm. My dad is physically handicapped and so most of the farm work is done by my brother's and me. In high school my favorite sport was wrestling, and when I get older I want to help coach a team. I work for a trucking company in the safety department. I love having a job where I help people return home to their families without harm every day. My other interests include music, dancing, and trying new things.

Why I am a Mormon

Since I was very young, my father has not been involved in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but my mother has. It has always been my decision to attend any church and to decide what I believe. I chose to go to church with my mother, instead of staying home on Sunday. I went because it felt good in the church building and I loved learning more about who I was and why I was here on earth. When I was eight years old, I was baptized. I remember that at about the same time, I began reading the Book of Mormon every night before I went to bed. This changed my life. I felt in my heart that what I was reading was true, and that the life I was living was what God wanted me to do. I found myself wanting to be better. My dad was hurt and became handicapped while working in the coal mine at about this same period of my life. I know that God, my Heavenly Father, blessed me with the comfort and strength I needed through his gospel for this hard time. Through every hardship since, I have found that Heavenly Father is there for me if I go to him. I have also found that when I don't go to him, hope fades. I know that God lives. He cares for and loves each of us. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the word of God, and that they can bring His presence into our lives. I know that the fullness of Christ's church has been restored by Joseph Smith, a prophet of God. That church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. If there are any of you who want to know more, ask! I promise you that as you try to learn more about His church and pray about what you receive, He will let you know of its truth. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

In wrestling, I found it very important to always show good sportsmanship and not allow the sport to change how I felt about people. I made friends from many different schools, even if they were the coaches! Sports gave me the chance to connect with and love more people, similar to how Christ loves all of us. Every Sunday in church, I have the chance to play piano. I love playing and giving others the chance to sing sacred hymns to God. Another opportunity I have is to visit homebound people in my neighborhood and take them the Sacrament. These people have become my good friends, and I love how happy they are when I go to meet with them. Currently, I am preparing to spend two years serving a mission. I will leave my family and dedicate all of my efforts into sharing the truth: the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
