Hi I'm Tina Boisseranc Paventy

I'm a mother and grandmother. I've been divorced and now wonderfully remarried. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 5 and grandmother of 11.I'm also remarried and and grandmother to 11 more and loving 6 more adult children. I love to sew, ride bikes, swim, water ski, scuba dive, sail, snorkel and anything else that involves water! I am a perpetual student. At 55, I still have not completed college because I still keep changing my major. I have attended classes throughout the years as my children were home, and even after they're gone. Will I ever graduate?!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up another faith, and attended school of that faith. But I had questions that they couldn't answer, like: Why did Jesus Christ only visit, heal and love the people in area of Israel-Didn't he love us? Why was there scripture from the beginning of time, but ended shortly after the death of Christ-What about now? Why were there prophets throughout the scriptures but not now-What about our time? I hadn't heard of the Mormons, until I was in high school. Then a girlfriend that had moved away came to visit and talked all about a church she had been attending, and their high school seminary. We stayed up all night as she told me all about the things she'd been learning...she answered the questions I'd held all my life!!! The next day we made an appointment with the missionaries, after the series of discussions I was baptized! I was 18, It has been the best decision of my life! I am now a mother and grandmother and have loved raising my family. It's not been easy, but I've been a better parent through the patience and love I've learned through my faith in Christ.

How I live my faith

Because of the teachings of Christ in the Bible and Book of Mormon, I have a desire to follow Him by loving all children. I remember years ago being frazzled in a grocery line with 2 crying babies. When I finally got to the checker, I took it out on her. I was so ashamed of myself and made a promise to myself and the Lord that I would try to never affect others negatively. It has been a wonderful goal, to always be kind, cheerful and thoughtful of others, despite my own circumstances. I want to make a difference in how other's see themselves through my eyes. Because of this goal, I have been "prompted" by the Spirit of God to even reach out to others I don't know. It has been very rewarding to get to know my neighbors and help others just when they need it because I have been moved by the Spirit to do so. Awesome feeling!!
