Hi I'm Justin

I am a missionary, from New Jersey. I'm in Northern Ireland and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I have completed my freshman year at the University of Wyoming. In September I will be leaving for my mission in Scotland/Ireland. I couldn't be more excited for this blessed opportunity to serve the Lord. As for my hobbies/ Interests I really enjoy being adventurous and trying new things. I love woodworking and I hope that I can continue that in my future. The outdoor world is amazing. I enjoy a good bike ride or walk through nature.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member because I choose to be each day. I had a period in my life that I was inactive. It was empty, and I felt like I was missing a light in my life. No matter who I was with or what I was doing I was never really truly happy, isn't that what we all want to be? After some searching and talking with people that mattered most to me I was able to realize some changes that I should make in my life. I then was able to start getting more active and trying to do my part in making the change. I felt like I could feel and see God's hand in my life. I kept going down this path, I now feel like in most things I do I have a "completeness" in my heart. I am truly happy and I know that God loves me. I currently am serving a mission and it's the right place for me to be. I am so grateful that the Lord loves me and knows me personally and that he has allowed me to serve him. I hope that I can help someone find this love he has for themselves.

How I live my faith

I currently don't have a calling as I'm in a transition period from school to my mission. With that said I do home-teach and actively attend/help in my ward. My goals as a home teacher are to develop a friendly relationship with my families so that they know I'm there for them. I'm really trying to live as an everyday missionary through my actions and my words. I know if I do that with obedience then when I go on my mission I will be much more prepared.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Tithing is used to help keep the Church up and running the way the Lord wants it running. After all, it is his church. All of our leaders are volunteer so that means all of the money from tithing goes back to help others. Much of the money from tithing is spent building and maintaining church buildings and temples. It's really great to be able to go into the buildings and see that they are being treated and taken care of properly. Another chunk of the money goes towards supplies and materials for teaching and running the church. That would include pamphlets or any item similiar, but also books and magazines to help educate us as members. I know that the money from tithing is simply used to better us and help us to grow closer to God. I am grateful that we are able to see it's affect in the church. Show more Show less
