Hi I'm Christina

I am married and I live with my husband, children, grandchildren and all of my crazy wonderful animals.

About Me

I live in Ontario, Canada on a small hobby farm with my Family, my miniature horses, dogs, birds, ducks and a large fish pond. Friends introduced me to the church in 1990 and I haven't looked back. I've had trials and just recently we had a fire and lost everything. I thank Heavenly Father that my family and animals survived the rest was just things. Having said that, it was a very traumatic experience and I remember asking Heavenly Father what I needed to learn from this. That is how I have decided to look at my trials because we are here to learn and to grow. The knowledge that I have received through studying the Book of Mormon and the Bible have given me a wonderful life, I really couldn't be happier. My dreams are still coming true, a little more every day, and I am grateful for the blessings in my life. After the fire the Lord blessed my with the home that I have always wanted and a new barn for the horses'. It brought our family even closer together as we move ahead looking for a new home and starting over. You may think for a second that it would be fun but it's not you stay in shock for awhile after and all of a sudden you are not sleeping in the comfort of your own bed in the safety of your our home. It's very hard to see the blessings right away, but as we pulled together as a family (which is the best part of the church) we had strength to move forward.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a member because I knew in my heart that God would not leave us with a book that was hard to understand and when I found out that there is still a Prophet on the earth today. Heavenly Father has been there so many times for me and we have constant communication every day when I need to speak to him. The best time for me to talk to him is in my car, where it is quiet and I can get personnel revelation to guide me through my day. There is still a lot that I don't know, there is so much information in the gospel it takes a long time to absorb it all but a little every day helps. God knows that I am doing my best and that's ok with him. He gives me comfort when I hurt and helps me understand things that I may not understand completely in order to deal with it. I know that God lives, I can't deny that because of the ways he has helped my in my life and continues to do so. I know that President Monson is a prophet for the world today and the Book of Mormon holds the record of how chosen people came to the America's to be able to live the freedom of their religion. If you want to read about the native people and how that came to live in America it is written in the Book of Mormon. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet and translated the Book of Mormon. I always feel the spirit in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints were ever I go. I am so grateful to be a member of this church and I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. w

How I live my faith

In our ward, we have done many projects to help families and organizations in our own community and I especially like making quilts and toys that the fireman in our area give to children who have gone through fires. These quilts are put around the shoulders of the little ones to help comfort them. We have also sent toys that we have made for children in other countries deprived of these little treasures. My callings have been fun and I have learned so much, like service to my neighbors, friends and family. I smile at people on the street who are less fortunate than I am and will stop to talk to them, sometimes just listening to them talk about the things that concern them. Many skills that are needed in these callings have given experience to find jobs outside of the church. Visit teaching is visiting other women members in their homes to talk about the things that may concern them at the time and to help them find resolution. I love what ever calling that I get and do the best that I can, because I know that Heavenly Father knows my limits and will help me.
