Hi I'm Tanner

I was born in the south. My family makes me happy. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm an older brother, I have a job in a bank, and a family that makes me smile. I love to spend time in water anywhere, surfing, swimming, canoeing, fishing, anything! I love the people that I meet, and remember the stories they tell. I love music, Journey's "Don't Stop Beleivin' " speaks to my soul! I graduated from high school and am now saving money to attend college. My mom and dad are my heroes, my little sister yells my name when I get home, and I wrestle with my brothers.

Why I am a Mormon

If there is a God, and He is our loving Father, our priority should be contact with Him. Healthy family relationships are like that. The Bible and the Book of Mormon claim to be a written record of man seeking that contact, and finding it through His spirit. We are encouraged to seek that contact as well, with countless promises that as we seek we will find. God wants to be found, and he wants to forgive and lift us higher. I was reading the Bible and the Book of Mormon in a park in Brazil, where I had enough space to think and feel. I was studying about faith in Christ, how could I help the people I taught and interacted with find their own faith in Christ and his healing. I studied about the miracles, the sermons, the corrections, Christ invites us to come in so many ways to be healed from so many wrongs. As I studied I felt something burn inside me, I continued and felt consumed in an incredible love that I recognized to be from the spirit of God. As I came in contact with something pure and true the spirit came and verified that what I was reading was true, just as God promised to do. This is why I'm a Mormon, I felt the love of a Father in heaven, I feel His love in my family, and when I live what is taught from the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I come closer to God by living this way, I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I believe in a Father who loves us. I believe He misses us so much He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to suffer the pains of grief and death for us to live again. I spent two years in Brazil as a missionary, finding and teaching anyone who would listen about the Christ. I saw broken hearts shine through with new hope. I saw skepticism paralyze and ignorance chain up my closest friends. I read the Book of Mormon and it is a direct link with the spirit of God. I helped families read the Book of Mormon together and felt the difference of a stronger happier home, happening in a matter of days. Today I serve as a responsible for the Mormon men in my area, they stand as lights that repel things like hate, deceit, and ignorance. These Mormon men serve in the armed forces, community positions, museums, everywhere, and everywhere they have the same light. They are my joy, my family is my foundation, Christ is the center, and I work to stabilize myself and start my own family.
