Hi I'm Joseph

I grew up in Utah. I enjoy drawing, animating, designing, and playing ultimate frisbee. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from high school and I am now serving a mission in McAllen Texas. I enjoy drawing and working with computers. My favorite sport to play is ultimate frisbee. I'm going to study animation in college.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church. Growing up, I learned about my Heavenly Father, and every day I see His hand in my life. The spirit has witnessed to me of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and I have found my own testimony through scripture study and prayer.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving my mission in McAllen Texas where I have the opportunity to serve and teach the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Joseph
God is our loving Heavenly Father and because He loves us, He wants us to learn and progress and be like Him. So He has provided a way for us to come here to this earth, be tested, and take the steps we need to become like our Heavenly Father. The first step in this progression is baptism by immersion. For us to become more like our Heavenly Father, we need to make covenants. A covenant is a two-way promise we make with God where we promise to obey his commandments, and in return He promises to bless us and give us gifts that help us in our progression. When we are baptized, we make a covenant that we will obey His commandments and take upon ourselves the name of Christ, and in return, Heavenly Father gives us the gift of the Holy Ghost and other blessings. Perfection cannot be obtained without this gift. The process of immersion is symbolic of being reborn into the new covenant and our sins of the life before are literally washed away.
