Hi I'm Faith

I grew up Anchorage Alaska. The missionaries met and taught my parents shortly before I was born. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the grateful mother of three sons and four daughters. I love to take scenery and family photos, putting them in "iMovie" format for my family to enjoy. I love taking walks, going hiking, reading books, being with my family, baking with my girls, and researching my ancestors. I have battled cancer with my son, spent time in emergencies rooms for stitches, broken bones, and "just in case" moments, and learned that I can depend on the Lord to see me through the difficult times in life.

Why I am a Mormon

Through my personal study of the scriptures and through personal prayer, I have been able to better know and love my Savior Jesus Christ. I have learned He is my Elder Brother and that He loves me more than I can comprehend. I have felt the blessings of the Atonement in my life as I have tried to do what is right for myself and for my family. I have felt the comfort of the Holy Ghost whisper peace to my spirit in times of trial and difficulty. When the trial has seemed almost more than I can bear, I have knelt in prayer (sometimes in my closet) and poured my heart out to my Father in Heaven. Through these prayers, as well as many others, I have been blessed with comfort, knowledge, and understanding - an understanding that there IS a God, who IS my Father, who LOVES me, who KNOWS me by name. I have read and studied the Book of Mormon. I have read the challenge and promise found in Moroni 10:3-5. I have prayed about the truthfulness of this book and have received a personal witness through the Holy Ghost that it is indeed a second witness of Jesus Christ. Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ helps me to be happy because I know I am following His teachings, the teachings that a loving Heavenly Father sent Him to share with the world. I am a Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know it and I love it!

How I live my faith

I currently serve in my church as the Cub Master for our Cub Scouts, boys ages 8 to 10. It is a lot of fun, but also challenging as I try to keep the activities fun, entertaining, but simple as well. (Is that even possible for that age group???? Yes it is! :) It is rewarding for me to see these young boys grow up, earn their badges, rank advancements and awards. I have other service opportunities as I visit women in my neighborhood. Several times a year, we will get together for birthday lunches. We meet at the birthday girl's favorite restaurant, eat together, visit, and have fun. This hour passes by too quickly. I also try to spend time each day studying the scriptures. When I take 15 to 20 minutes for myself, reading and learning more about my Savior Jesus Christ, I find that my day goes so much better. This study time helps me to organize my thoughts and remember things that are most important.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

I believe that families can live together in heaven forever. And, I believe that it takes work to make a "forever family." As a mom, I try to teach my children the value of hard work, of service, of obedience and sacrifice, and of having fun together. What family would want to be together forever if they cannot enjoy being with each other?! I also teach my children of the sacred nature of the temple. In the temple, we make sacred covenants with God, our Heavenly Father. These sacred covenants help me to remember what is important in life. By living in accordance with His laws, by being obedient and faithful to my covenants, I believe that I will be able to be with my husband, and my children for eternity. I cannot comprehend that when this life is over, that is the end - that there is no more. I believe a loving Heavenly Father wants me to return to live with Him again, and bring my family with me. Eternity would not be eternity without my family. I have experienced the pains of loss, my grandparents, my uncle, and my "other" mom. Not being able to see them ever again would be devastating. I have faith that if I live as I should, if I am obedient and faithful, and if I endure to the end through all my trials, I will be with all my family forever, including all my wonderful ancestors who have passed on before. It's going to be exciting to talk with them and learn about their lives! Show more Show less
