Hi I'm Katelyn

I grew up in Utah. I love to play any sport, especially volleyball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up LDS with a very strong LDS family on both sides. I have been obsessed with sports all my life, and I love to learn all about history. All 3 of my older brothers and my brother in law served full time missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and were my inspiration to serve one as well. I am serving in Scottsdale Arizona, and I love every minute of it! It has been the most amazing experience and I am so grateful to be able to share this gospel with as many people as I can. Being LDS has made me so happy, and I know that Christ Atoned for our sins so that we can all be cleansed and live with our Father in Heaven for eternity. Christ went through all of that, for all of us so that he will know how to help us when the time came. All we need to do is ask, and I know that when I've asked Christ for help, he's given it to me, and made me so much happier, and made life so much easier.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this faith, and during High School I was very interested in what others believed that were outside of my faith. In learning more about other religions, the more this one seemed right. I read the Book of Mormon and asked God if it was true and I got my answer, just as I know anyone who does the same with honest and true intent can receive the same answer. I cannot say enough how happy this gospel makes me, and I know that it is true, that it makes me a better person and makes me strive to do hard things with God's help. Being a Mormon has shaped every good thing in my life, and has kept bad things away. I know with all my heart that this is true.

How I live my faith

I attend church every sunday, I try my best to participate in answering questions in classes and giving my opinion to create better discussion. I try my hardest to keep all the commandments of God and to follow Christ's example. Though Christ was the only perfect being that ever walked the earth, I can try my hardest to be like him and when I fall short, I know that I can always turn to Him to make my weaknesses strengths and be forgiven for my sins. I try to apply the Repentance process as many times as I need so that I can learn from my mistakes and become more like our Savior, Jesus Christ. I try to share my beliefs with anyone that will listen, because I know that this gospel is for everyone.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Katelyn
The authority that we speak of as Mormon's is called the priesthood. The priesthood is the authority and power to act in God's name. The amazing thing about this authority is that it can be traced directly back to Jesus Christ himself, and therefore back to God. Not only is this the authority to act in God's name, it is the permission from God to participate in certain ordinances, (i.e. baptism, sacrament). So the Authority, or the Priesthood, is extremely important because when we have that authority, we are given permission straight from God to be baptized. It gives a validity to the act we are performing. Show more Show less
