Hi I'm J Cox

I was born and raised in a small community in Utah. I enjoy playing American Football. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the middle child of 5 with four sisters, I enjoy physical activities, such as sports, hunting, hiking, fishing, outdoor things. I got my Eagle scout award when I was 15 years old. I just graduated from high school. I will be on my mission soon serving in the Canada Halifax Mission. Im a pretty quiet person but if you get to know my you know that you'll never get me to be quiet once you get me on a specific topic.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the gospel, right into a loving family. I love them and i know that they love me. When i was 8 years old and was baptized i had an overwhelming feeling of peace and joy. Upon my baptism, i had never really known what was in the Book of Mormon and began a journey to learn about it, but as I got older I began to think that it was just a silly book that I didnt need to read. So i stopped, but continued going to church and attending my meetings. One day as i was going about my business, my father came to me and asked me to read the Book of Mormon again. So i did, this time was different than the first time i did. I dont know what it was but as I read the book came to life. I understood what i was reading and instantly fell in love with it. Then one night I was reading in the 56th chapter of Alma when the Strippling Warriors are running from the Lamanite army. Helaman looks at his sons and they have a dialogue that hit me like a ton of bricks. Helaman asked, "Therefore what say ye, my sons, will ye go against them to battle?" and then they responded, Father, behold our God is with us, and he will not suffer that we should fall; then let us go forth; we would not slay our brethren if they would let us alone; therefore let us go, lest they should overpower the army of Antipus....they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them.....We do not doubt our mothers knew it." At that moment in time I knew that the Book of Mormon was true, my parents both knew and thats what they wanted for me.

How I live my faith

As I've gone throughout my life I have been in lots of ups and downs, but as I have been learning the gospel of Jesus Christ it means so much more to me than just going to church. I try to pattern my life as closely to the Saviors as possible. One of the ways that I feel is the best way to be like the Savior is to be a missionary. The Savior went about doing good, helping others, and teaching them the gospel. I can think of no other way that would show my love for Him.
