Hi I'm Jake

I grew up in the UK. I've graduated school and look forward to teaching the gospel wherever I can. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I attend a 6th form college about 30 minutes drive from my house. For my A-levels I study Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths and should get my results soon. I have one sister, and a lot of cousins, so family events are always interesting to say the least. I have many hobbies and interests, I do archery and enjoy lots of physical activity, I love hiking and camping. In the past I have been a member of rugby, cricket and fencing clubs, but I got too busy with school work to continue all of those. I love reading any kind of book, particularly fiction, and especially fantasy and sci-fi novels.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up in the church by my parents and when I was 1 I decided I had to know for myself whether or nit the church was true. I couldn't carry on attending without my own testimony. So I prayed that I would know the truth for myself and received the answer that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church. Since then my testimony has expanded and grown stronger. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and he restored the true church to the Earth. I know that Jesus Christ lives and atoned for our sins so we can go back and live with our Heavenly Father. And I know that he loves us and we will return to him.

How I live my faith

I am the oldest young man in my ward, so I help lead a lot of activities. I am the first assistant to the priests quorum presidency, which mean I am the leader for young men aged 16-18, and organise our activities. We do regular service projects in the ward, to help other members with any problems they may have. I am also the ward Sunday School President which means I organise and teach lessons about the gospel to other members of the ward. I am going on a mission and have been called to serve in Colombia, so I am looking forward to bringing others to the gospel.
