Hi I'm Jeff

I grew up in Utah. I love the outdoors and have worked for a half century helping others to more fully live their lives.

About Me

I am a son, a father, and a grandfather sharing with my wife of 44+ years 3 children and their families. I love the outdoors, horses, dogs and history, I am a social worker by training and find joy in seeing others change their lives for good. Knowing that if I live my faith I can be with generations past and future brings me comfort and peace of mind. I am Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in a small rural, predominantly Mormon community, makes life transparent in many ways. Every one knows one anothers name, where you live, to which family you belonged, where or if you worked, what type of student you were and if you went to chuch. This provided a wonderful opportunity to be nurtured by the community and a prime enviornment to rebel. During much of my youth I choose the latter. Community standards and church values provided boundries to be challenged and sometimes even crossed , but always only in the name of fun and shock value. Then I found myself grown up, a college graduate, with a loving family and church leaders that never gave up on me. Being an athlete helped me form an identity, crying for depth and meaning. My future became more clear as I matured. The seeds planted by my parents instilled values of hard work , honesty, caring about others and a wonderful sense of humor gave my life purpose. The job market and career choices led me away and required to me to stand on my own two feet. Over a two year period the missing pieces of my life began to take form. Greater purposes became defined, a career, my relationship with God and meeting my eternal companion were all connected. The past, present and future are all one in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Eternal truths are only found through the Holy Spirit of this I testify in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

How I live my faith

Early in my life my parents stressed that being the member of a church ment little unless it defined how we live our life each day. Being active means being of service to others, being a friend a good neighbor. Being a member of a congregation helps provide opportunities and define how we live. Working as a teacher and a leader helps me influence and serve others. And perhaps most important, we all have the opportunity to learn from one another. I currently am serving with my wife as a missionary and helping others come closer to Jesus Christ,
