Hi I'm Shaylea Anderson

I grew up in the beautiful Ogden Valley in Utah! I'm fighting rheumatoid arthritis and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and lupus disease when I was 13 years old. I fought every day and had the hardest time understanding why I was sick. Growing up with these diseases was really hard, I was really active as a child and learning that I couldn't do any sports was not something I took well. I finally decided to not let arthritis or lupus control my life and I took charge. I put my mind to getting into remission and I can finally say I've made it! Upon getting into remission I also just recently received my mission call to Lima Peru! I couldn't be happier to serve the wonderful people of Peru!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me peace. It helps me be the happiest I can be and makes me feel like I have purpose. I know that this is something I will never give up. It's through the Gospel of Jesus Christ that you can find true happiness. It has helped me in my life everyday. It brings me peace and comfort. I am never alone. I will never give up what I have, I will only share it with others!

How I live my faith

Growing up in Utah you could say I've lived in a bubble my whole life! Once I moved to Provo to go to school I realized how hard it is to be independent and be your own person. I could choose to go to church or stay home. To work, or play with my friends. There was a point in my college career where I had to find for myself my own testimony. And I can say with all honesty it was the best thing I could have done. After this happened my testimony has grown so much more about the truth of the Gospel and I know with all my heart that it is the only way to true happiness. I love helping people find the joy and happiness I have. It really is the true church and now that I know that it's easy to live the Gospel.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Shaylea Anderson
I've come to know my Father in Heaven through prayer. I pray morning and night to Him. I ask Him for things and thank Him. Whenever I need His help I just pray and ask for it. He always is there to help me and I see it everyday. I asked Him to help me find a job and He did. Or I ask for peace and comfort when I am nervous about something. And I know He loves me and is listening because He helps me with things I ask for. Show more Show less
