Hi I'm Shyanne Holmes

I'm a mountain climber.

About Me

I had a very hard time in high school and even the year after was hard. Not only did I do things that I knew wrong but continued to do them even after I felt bad. Slowly but surely though I changed my ways and because of my history I became stronger as a person and in the Church. My love for mountain climbing and backpacking helped me push through all the trails. The way I could relate my life and mountain climbing made me think of the saying "Mind over Matter" If you tell yourself that you can make it up the last 3 or 4 hundred feet to the top of the mountain that you just spent the last 4 or 5 hours climbing then you can tell yourself that you can make it through anything, even when you want to give up. You have already spent so much time and effort its pointless to give up now! You just have to tell yourself to endure to the end and the reward will be greater than anything else.

Why I am a Mormon

Mostly because I grew up in the church, however I stay a Mormon because I knew that it was the best for me. I knew that if I fell away it would be un-necessarily hard to come back. So I stay strong in the Church because, like I said, it's the best life for me. Besides the fact that everything about the Church I believe whole heartedly is true.

How I live my faith

I grew up in the Church and for me it has never been just a religion, but it's been a way of life that I enjoy living to the fullest. Personally, I think that every "good" person has a little Mormon in them. Simply for the fact that they are good people and they want the best in life.
