Hi I'm Taylor Nitz

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm a Mormon from birth, and I love the Savior.

About Me

I am a teller at a local financial institution, and I attend Salt Lake Community College working on a Business degree. I love music; I play piano, trumpet, and guitar. I enjoy sports, and I consider myself a decent golfer. I love spending time with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of how much the gospel has blessed my life. Even through my darkest times, I have found hope and peace because of the knowledge I have of the gospel, and my Savior. He has been, and always will be, by my side. I have felt of His love, and I know of the truthfulness of His gospel. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or the Mormon church, is true. I spent many months testifying to God's children in Washington about the divinity of this church and its teachings. Through that time, and through the immense struggles I faced, I realized how little I actually knew. I still don't know everything, but I know enough. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that he restored the true Church of Christ onto the earth, and that through him, the Book of Mormon was brought forth to add an additional witness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that we have a prophet on the earth today, President Thomas S. Monson. And finally, I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, and through Him, we are freed from death and sin. All that is wrong will be made right. I know He lives. These simple truths are the things that fuel my testimony. These things I know to be true.

How I live my faith

Currently, I serve on the friendshipping committee in my ward. My responsibility is to make sure every member of the ward has a friend. But I also try to live my life in such a way that it shows that I am a follower of Christ. I do my best to serve people in whatever ways I can. I love the Lord, and I try my hardest each day to be an example of Him.

What is faith?

Taylor Nitz
Faith, as explained in the New Testament, "is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." It is a belief, or a hope, for something we cannot see. It is the first principle of the Gospel of Christ. Having faith in Him shows that we trust Him. Faith is an action word, not just a mental belief. Like James says in his epistle, we must show our faith by our works (see James 2:17-18). The more you exercise your faith, the more it will grow. In the Book of Mormon, one of the prophets compares faith to a seed. Like a seed, we must nurture our faith so it can grow. Show more Show less
