Hi I'm Emily Tedford

I was born in Mexico City, grew up in Texas, study at BYUI, and want to be a zoologist. Oops, Also I'm a Mormon :)

About Me

I am a student at BYUI and love it! I play the violin and piano. I want to be a veterinarian or a zoologist.. not sure yet. I am married and have no children but I plan on it! Love to cook and watch tv (I love desperate housewives and Prison break.)

Why I am a Mormon

My name is Emily, I was married a year and 3 months ago in the Mexico City temple. Before getting married I attended institute every Tues and Thur, went to church every Sunday and was a teacher in Relief Society. I grew up reading the scriptures with my mom, singing in primary, and going to seminary. My life was enriched with the gospel, but it wasn't always this way.. Three years earlier I had fallen away from the church. I had a boyfriend who wasn't someone I was proud about and all of my friends around me either smoked or drank. I went to church because my parents made me but when we got back I was my old self again. I convinced myself that my habits "weren't that bad" and that I didn't even feel bad about them. Deep down I knew I was lying to myself. I was so empty inside, I could feel how god was not happy with me. I think that during this time I always knew I was doing wrong I was just in denial. When I met my husband he taught me that THE GOSPEL WAS TRUE. I guess I had been so used to hearing the same principles that It had become monotone. He taught me that the MOST IMPORTANT thing I could do in this world was go back with heavenly father. And once he got that in my thick head, I was saved. My conversion was not typical l I FELT IT SO HARD IN MY HEART TYPE, It was subtle and dear to me. I felt the spirit and just felt so calm, like nothing wrong could ever happen. And I felt gods love for me. I knew the gospel was true and I wanted those blessings for my family.

How I live my faith

After being sealed and receiving my endowment I felt like I knew what I had to do in life. Since then I have prioritized my goals and tried to see the eternal perspective. I know now in my heart that this is what god want me to do even though I am just 20 years old. I strive to do the best I can every day in my talk, in my actions, and in my overall appearance. I love this church and I love Jesus Christ because I feel his love deep in my heart. I know my marriage is a celestial marriage and that god will give me the highest blessings he can for choosing to make this decision.
