Hi I'm Kelsi

I'm a future teacher. I'm a college student. I love my family. I love basketball. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a college student in Northern Arizona. I love hiking and being outdoors, so this is the perfect place for me! I love going to the lake with my family and wakeboarding. I also love playing basketball and softball and any other sport that I get the chance to play. I recently decided that it would be fun to become a cyclist...so I bought a road bike. You don't realize how many hills there are in Flagstaff or how hard it is to breath at 7000ft until you try riding a bike up here...shoot! But I love where I live and I enjoy the community. I am studying to become a high school English Teacher and I'll admit, I'm kind of a nerd. I love learning and studying. I want to become a teacher because I believe that a good teacher can be such a strong influence for good in someone's life. I have had some wonderful examoles of these types of teachers who helped me develop a love for learning and who helped me realize and strive toward my full potential. They taught me not only to become a better student, but motivated me to be a better person. I want to be a teacher who believes in my students and helps them realize all that they can achieve through hard work.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know that it is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth today. Following the teachings of His gospel have lead to more happiness in my life than anything else. Because of Christ's Atonment and the power of God's priesthood on the earth today, I know that I can live with my family for eternity. Knowing this brings me such peace in my life and provides motivation to repent of my sins and shortcomings and strive to be better every day. I am so grateful for Jesus Christ's Atonement for my sins and I know that it is through this Atonement that I can be made clean as I repent and make changes to my life every day. I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father who wants the best for me. I feel his love every single day and I know that he knows me personally. I am thankful for the relationship that I have with Him, and I know that there is real power in prayer. I know that He hears and answers my prayers and I continually look to Him for guidance which he sends through the gift and power of the Holy Ghost. I love this gospel. I know that following the principles that I have been taught brings true and lasting happiness. I know that Heavenly Father has called Thomas S. Monson to be His prophet and his mouthpiece on Earth today, just as he has called prophets in the past. Having a living prophet is such a blessing in my life. I know that I am sent blessings when I follow his counsel.

How I live my faith

I am a member of a young single adult ward, which is a congregation of (you guessed it!)... young single adults from the ages of 18-30. While some leadership positions are held by older members who are not young or single, the groups and organizations are mostly run by college students and other young members. I have the opportunity to be in the leadership for the women in the congregation and I love serving there. I am able to meet and fellowship those who are struggling, teach lessons, and organize activites for the women in my ward. I have grown to love each of these sweet sisters as I try my best to serve them. It is a great organization that has allowed me to surround myself with wonderful friends who lift me up and help me keep my standards.
