Hi I'm Rob

I am a husband. I am a father. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised near Boston Massachusetts. After high school I moved to Utah to attend Brigham Young University. I remember being amazed by the proximity and beauty of the mountains while walking on campus. The view was just a stark contrast to Massachusetts. After my freshman year, I left the mountains to serve a mission in Southern France. It was a great opportunity to learn, grow, and share my beliefs and testimony. Upon my return from France, I continued my education at BYU and took advantage of the study aboard programs. I was able to attend BYU's Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies and walk the streets of Jerusalem and visit the Sea of Galilee, the Dead Sea, Egypt and Jordan and many other sites. I was also able during a separate semester to participate in BYU's Washington Seminar. It was great to work in the nation's capital. My priorities now include my wife and four kids. It isn't always easy but there is great joy in watching them grow, develop, and experience life. With school, sports such as soccer, baseball and ballet, scouts and other events our schedule can seem rather full some weeks. Even with all of those activities we try to find time for family time when the kids can laugh and we can enjoy some moments together. I also enjoy photography and cycling.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to be. I have found joy and peace while living the doctrines taught at church. I enjoy reading the scriptures and learning the teachings of ancient and modern prophets. Through prayer I have been comforted and I am able to feel my Father in Heaven's love for me. I know that answers to life's questions can be found in the teachings of Jesus Christ as well as the ancient and modern prophets. I have learned that I can know what my Father in Heaven wants of me. I am certainly not perfect and I have much to learn. Knowing that God knows who I am, I have great reason to overcome my failings and any trials and challenges that I may face. Though I have ancestors who were baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the 1830's I came to the conclusion that I wanted to be baptized for my own reasons. Simply put I know that God lives and is our Father in Heaven, that He created a plan where His son Jesus Christ would come to this earth, die for us, redeem us from our sins and be resurrected. I know that Heavenly Father has provided us with prophets historically and even today to help us understand how we should live. In living in accordance to these teachings I have found great joy and peace. I am a Mormon because I don't want to live any other way.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying. I have found great joy when I live the way I feel the scriptures and prophets encourage us to live. I find time daily, even if it's just a few minutes a day, to read in the scriptures and to pray to my Father in Heaven. I also try to live so my wife and kids can be proud of me and the decisions I make because ultimately my decisions will effect them.
