Hi I'm Sue Hodge

I am a wife, mother, grandmother, a sociologist, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of six grown children and grandmother of three. I love to spend time with my family, cooking our favorite foods, baking, reading to the children, listening to them play the piano, violin, and cello and hearing about the lives of all. I am a sociologist and a PhD candidate with research interests in the influences of inequality, poverty, and homelessness on society.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my Savior and strive daily to follow His example.

How I live my faith

The following quote made a significant change in my view of life as it illustrates the concept of "bearing one another's burdens" in a different light and underscores that we are responsible for one another. Separating ourselves from the "other" only serves to weaken the ties that bind us. “If you would have God have mercy on you, have mercy on one another. … We are full of selfishness; the devil flatters us that we are very righteous when we are feeding on the faults of others. Joseph Smith, Teachings of the Presidents of the Church, 2011, 448 - 57.
