Hi I'm Alicia

I'm a Missionary, I'm spunky, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be outside. Rock climbing, rafting, hiking, biking. There is just something about the way the sun hits the trees, when the sunlight bounces off the leaves and shines right on you. It just makes me feel like everything will be alright; that Christ won't let you fall. He's got ya! I'm currenty a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love serving and helping people. I'm happy and know that Christ lives!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I feel His Spirit and I know it's true. I actually grew up in the church, but I did have to actually convert. I had to know for myself if it was true or not. I remember once, when I was about 15 years old, I started to get really depressed. I had no feelings of self worth and I didn't know where I was going. One night I couldn't sleep and my head hurt from crying so much. At that point I got on my hands and knees and prayed.. I said, "Heavenly Father, I don't understand why You would put me here, I'm nobody. No one understands, no one cares. Please Heavenly Father, you've got to help me.'' I said amen, got up and stepped on a build-a-bear's paw. That paw had a recording in it that said "I love you, I love you, I love you." I felt in my heart, with all my soul, that it was from God. I knew through the Spirit that I was important and He loved me no matter how I acted. I open my scriptures right after and read the words in Doctrine and Coventants, "The worth of souls is great in the sight of God." I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I know with all my heart that Joseph Smith restored this church by seeing Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that both Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ loves all of us and knows us each by name! I know that if we follow Him and do what He wants us to do that we will be blessed and live again, with our families, and with Him again.

How I live my faith

Being a youth, in the Program the LDS church has was one of the best things. One can meet so many others that are just like you. Many times I would be having a rough day and I just didn't really want to do anything or talking to anyone but then one of the woman or girls in the ward would see me or give me a hug, it would just make me smile. and brighten my day! Funny how such a little thing can make such a big difference. I always thank through prayer that I was able to know such great people and have friends that I didn't even realize I had.
