Hi I'm Tanner

I am an older brother, a college student, a rocket engineer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I study at Brigham Young University in their mathematics department. Here I have learned lots and have made friends that I will never forget. Also at BYU I have found a love for High Powered Rocketry. Aside from that, I love slacklining, fly fishing, soccer, and just hanging out with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

A point came in my life where I needed to decide for myself whether or not I wanted to be a part of this church. I grew up piggybacking on my parent's testimonies and until I was around 17 that was enough for me. I realized at that age that I knew things about the church, but had I gained a testimony for myself. During this time of trying to find my answer, I was reading in Alma 36 when my answer came to me. The feeling that I felt when I read this testified to me that Jesus Christ really did atone for our sins, that Heavenly Father wants us to return to live with him in eternity, and that he has provided modern day prophets to help bring us back to him. I want whoever is reading this to know, that I truly do believe that this gospel is the truth. I know that Jesus Christ is our Redeemer and that he knows each of us personally and all that he wants us to do is rise up to his example and try to be like him so that we can live in eternity. It is through him that I have been fortunate enough to see the pain and blessings that come after by following Him and how they effect myself, friends, and family. I believe the Book of Mormon to be a book that provides information into what we need to do with our lives to be more righteous. If you take the opportunity to read it and ask Heavenly Father if it is true, you will receive an answer.

How I live my faith

I have just began a mission in the Peru Lima West Mission where I am dedicating my life to the Lord and his gospel for two years. From what I seen and learned throughout my life, I have found that one of the best ways to live my faith is through example. It is amazing to see the impact that you can have on someone just by teaching through yourself. A big part of this for me is understanding the connections between religion and things like science and math. Rather than them working apart, I have found that they are working together to help people learn and benefit from them.
