Hi I'm Spencer Parkinson

I love sports and I am currently serving my mission in Richmond Virginia.

About Me

I am a child of God. After years of not understanding this concept I can now say it and be proud of it. I know this to be true. I live in Cache Valley and will attend Utah State after my mission. I love my family more than anything and I wish to raise my own. I love baseball and watching every type of sport. I love to talk and make people laugh. I am currently serving my mission in Richmond Virginia.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, and have received a very strong testimony over my lifetime. But most recently is when I stopped saying "I believe" and started saying "I know." I do this because I know this is the true church. I came up with my own quote for this: "Become that of which you know to be true so when a test is upon thy soul thy foundation shall not perish, and the work of the Lord shall never crumble upon the drops of heaven that soothe your soul and comfort you always. For the Holy Ghost is an eternal foundation, a foundation which I larbored to long without, but now mine eyes are open, and they shall cease to be closed again." -Spencer Lee Parkinson

How I live my faith

I currently am serving a mission for the lord, helping my fellow Ephraimites come unto Christ. I pray everyday for guidence to know that I am working to my full potential. I thank my Heavenlt Father everyday for what he has given me, including this opportunity to be out serving him.

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

This is a very big question. I simply have one word that can answer that. Truth. We believe all things that are true. "Well how can you know if something is true or not?" And that is where it can be tricky for some, but us as Latter-day Saints know exactly where to find the answer. We do believe in there being a supreme being. A god essentially. He is our Heavenly Father. He is perfect. Which means he does in fact know everything. He is true. Perfect=True. Truth is perfect, and you cannot deny that. Truth is tricky though. Peoples opinions and beliefs are what makes truth so hard to understand at times when it is such a simple concept. But there is something we know that can help us understand all that we need to, and that is our Heavenly Father. What better way to know if something is true or not? If he is perfect and true, then why could he not tell us if something was true or not? Now that is another tricky subject for some. But for us Saints we know EXACTLY what can teach us if something is true or not. The Holy Ghost. The third member of the Godhead. And as the scriptures say when Christ was speaking in John 14:26 "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things". It comes to us. Not necessarily in a type of awesome way, but he comes. But since he is the Comforter, he comes in a comforting way. He gently gives us the answers to our questions. In thought, in feeling, in mind. Gently he gives us the truth. Show more Show less
