Hi I'm Jennifer

I'm a college student and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love reading, Blogging, singing, hiking, knitting, crocheting and spending time with family and friends.I am currently attending college.

Why I am a Mormon

I've known the church my entire life. Ever since I was adopted I went to church with my mom and brother. Sometimes I struggled with the fact that my father wasn't there, too. I didn't realize until much later how important it was that I gain my own testimony of the church and of Jesus Christ. In other words, I needed to truly convert. This happened about last year, as I transitioned into college life. Being on my own forced me to ask why I still went to church, what my incentive was. To me, having the knowledge of the Savior's mortal ministry on the earth and his love for all men seemed to make sense. Seeing this evidence in the Bible, the Book of Mormon and the Pearl of Great Price affirmed my belief that His work can continue even to this day. Believing there is something beautiful to return to someday if I do what he asks of me helps me put my difficulties in perspective.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings in my ward. I serve as a ward missionary, helping investigators of the church feel welcome. I also participate in the Institute Program at my school, which helps me stay spiritually motivated throughout the week and find peace. Community service is also a big part of my life. Helping others run events so they go smoothly and interacting with the community gives me great pleasure.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Jennifer
Our bodies are essentially gifts from God. He created us in this form so that we could withstand the harsh elements of the world and also to serve as the protector of our spirits, which exist inside them. As he gave us this gift, he intended for us to treat it with the utmost respect, which is why we are asked to keep our bodies free of alcohol, tobacco and unhealthy foods. Show more Show less
