Hi I'm Esli Amato

I grew up in California! I love art and dancing! I will be serving a mission in Spokane Washington! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hey I am Esli and I am 19 years old :) I am an artistic person. I love to dance! I have taken ballet, tap, jazz, gymnastics, cheer leading, and now I am learning ballroom dancing which I love! I just graduated from High School last year, and just took a semester of college. Now I will be serving as a full time missionary in Spokane Washington for the next year and a half. When I return I hope to finish my schooling, and I hope to get in to fashion design for pollstery making and textiles. This can lead into interior design for pillow cushions, drapes, wall papers, and so forth.

Why I am a Mormon

My Parents raised me in the church. I chose to be baptized when I came of the age of 8. Not until I was about 14 years old did I really started to question myself and ask if I had a testimony of the church? Or if I had been relying on my parents testimony my whole life? I wanted to believe what I had been taught was true, but I needed to know for myself. So I did what I had been taught to do. I decided that to find out. I needed to read my scriptures every night and pray to know if what I had read was true and if what I had been taught was true. If it wasn't true I would not receive an answer to my prayer, and if it was I would. My answer did not come over night it took a lot of patience, a lot of hope and trust that I would receive an answer. One day I read my scriptures and a verse struck me and I realized that I had known my answer all along. It was in Alma 32:21&26. And now as I said concerning faith- faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if you have faith you hope for things which are not seen, which are true. Now, as I said concerning faith-that it is not to have a perfect knowledge-even so it is with my words. Ye cannot know of their surety at first, unto perfection, any more than faith is a perfect knowledge. Just then I knew I had faith. I believed. I felt the spirit so strongly when I read this passage I knew it was true. Faith can grow and develop into a testimony or a perfect knowledge although it takes our action and willingness to find out. Faith without works is dead.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday to learn and to take the Sacrament. On Monday nights I go with the Young Single Adult ward and we have a fun activity planned where we get together and socialize and just have fun we call it Family Home Evening. On Thursday nights we have a Scripture study class called Institute. It is really fun to learn about all the prophets in the scriptures and you get to learn with the Young Single Adults. I am on the Activities Committee for my church War so I get to help plan fun events for the Young Single Adults to attend.
