Hi I'm Antony

I'm 27, I like food, I like travelling and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in the UK all of my life and only recently move out of the town I've spent my whole life in. I studied Travel & Tourism at college then went on to further study the subject whilst working as a Travel Agent, after 2 years a better job prospect came up which was to be a Personal Assistant. I stayed in that job for 3 years before moving out of town. I still one day want to return to the industry I studied and possibly work as a Customs or Immigration Officer. I was baptised in to the church in June 2013 and in 2014 I left to serve as a full time missionary in the Spain Barcelona Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I came online to mormon.org.uk and ordered a copy of the Book of Mormon which was delivered by the missionaries. When they came I let them in and just kept meeting with them ever since. The more they tought me, the more things seemed to make sense. I always said to the missionaries that I wouldn't get baptised until I'd read the Book of Mormon fully, but as I was reading it I also prayed to know it was true and it came to a point where I knew I was ready to be baptised even though I hadn't finished the book (but have now!) Ever since the day I told the missionaries I was ready everything else has been so much easier to understand and my testimony strengthens every day!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by fully embracing life in the church. There is always an activity or event going on and as we are all one big family every event is a sociable one! We like to help each other out and service is at the heart of what we do. I love reading the Book of Mormon along with other guides and scriptures and personal study is an essential part of my day. Being a Young Single Adult in the church is amazing. We have so many programs running for our benefit. I attend institute classes every week where we study a particular topic in depth ( most recently, The Book of Mormon) and we share our own testimonies and experiences to learn from each other. We also have a senior couple here on their mission who have been assigned to look after the Young Single Adults. They live only a few minutes from the Church and their home is a place for us to gather together for games, movies, food and Family Home Evening. I love having the support of a missionary couple and they really help and strengthen us Young Single Adults.
