Hi I'm Jenny

I grew up in Chester, England. I am a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

The middle one of 3 children I had a mainly ordinary childhood, passing my 11+ and going to a Grammar School followed by a secretarial course at the local college. Marriage and children followed which was par for the course. I am now retired having done various jobs mainly in the clerical field my last one being in a veterinary practice . I have three grown up children all with families of their own. I have had many hobbies including crafts of every mentionable kind, reading until my eyes fall out, gardening, cooking, wildlife, environmental issues, birdwatching and of late doing my Family History. I have a great passion for cats and have had as many as 10 at one time. Now having lack of mobility due to arthritis a lot of these pastimes have become but sweet memories but I love spending time on my computer, reading -still avidly, watching most sports but especially Rugby Union and F1, going for an occasional drive, going to church and visiting family....and I still have a couple of cats.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always had a faith. In my teens I was a member of the choir in my local church in Chester. Throughout my adult life, though there was no church I always knew something was missing there had to be something special for me to place me on the right path. I had spent 40 years in my own self-made wilderness. But on May 4th 2013 the knock came at the door and you know where this is leading ...yes! on 15th June 2013 I was baptized. The most amazing day of my life. I am the first and only one in my family but my faith will show me the way by my example. The Book of Mormon was inspiring to read from the first day I was given a copy and I read it continually understanding more and seeing how it fits perfectly with the teachings in the Bible...the most perfect companions. I am blessed that my Heavenly Father is a patient God and he knew when it was my time. My inexhaustible faith was there on the back-burner waiting to go from simmer to a full boil and be my saving grace. I testify that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God and If everyone could be as happy as I am now, what a wonderful world this would be.

How I live my faith

I regularly visit my church and take part in as many activities that I am able. There is a wonderful spirit to be felt and that you always take home with you. I keep the Sabbath day Holy. I eat and drink as healthily as is possible and keep the promises I made at my baptism. Every day in every way I try to see the positive in all things and all people. Always having a smile on my face no matter what.....they are infectious. =) I am now called to be a Ward Indexer for the church and I love it, it is such a wonderful service to do; so that people are able to find their ancestors and to do their own family tree and my family tree is growing as genealogy has always been a passion of mine and it is so popular nowadays. It is amazing to think that I am giving others less fortunate than me a chance to finally find that long lost relative. I find daily prayer a must in this techno world we live in. A few precious, quiet moments on rising and before sleeping gets everything in perspective, deflates worries, energises the soul and defeats the adversary.
