Hi I'm Ryan

I was born and raised in California. I love music and the Spirit I can feel from it; I love laughing and smiling. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I was little, I loved playing soccer. I would play on school teams and leagues. Around my sophomore year of high school, I discovered I had a talent for the arts. I started to play piano and guitar, and ever since, have had a passion for music. Attending a performing arts academy helped me to hone these talents. At this school, I had also discovered a love for Theatre and Acting. My first highschool play was a modern rendition of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." I was born into a very happy and faithful family in the church. My parents always taught me and my siblings to keep the commandments and to make the right choices. It may have been hard to follow these rules sometimes, but after years of obedience, I grew to understand how happy I can be when I do obey the commandments, and how awesome the blessings are when I choose the right.

Why I am a Mormon

Being born into the church, it can be difficult to appreciate and understand the church the way we should. Until I was about 13, church was just something I did every Sunday. I was still obedient to the commandments and my parents, I just did not understand why I was. I was 14 when I finally had the desire to truly learn about the church and its docterine. Seminary was a huge help to my search for truth and knowledge. Over time, I grew to understand how happy the church made me, and how many blessings I recieved from it. I also ask whoever is reading this to please obtain the desire to learn for yourself how this church is true. The journey may be difficult, but I cannot begin to describe the blessings and happiness you will find in this search for truth. So, in a few words, I am a Mormon because it blesses me with a happy life, and is my source of light in a darkened world.

How I live my faith

In early May, 2013, I was called to serve in the Santo Domingo East Mission in the Domincan Republic. I arrived at the Santo Domingo MTC late at night on September 11th, 2013. Before I left, I was blessed with the opportunity to explain to my curious friends at school why I am sacrificing two years of my life to go to a foreign country. It made me happy to answer my friends' questions about the church. They understand me better and have a certain respect for me for sacrificing two years of college and time with my friends and family for something important to me. So far, I have served faithfully for a little more than a year. So many things have happened to me within this year that has strengthened my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My desire to share the gospel will not end with my mission. It has brought me so much happiness to share this with the people I care about before the mission, and will continue afterwards.
