Hi I'm Emily Bradshaw

I'm a ginger, a video game nerd, a radiology student and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Emily! I'm a Ginger (Red Head) in a Ginger family: three ginger older brothers and a ginger mom and non-ginger Dad. We own five Shih Tzus... We love dogs! I'm a huge video game nerd and paintball fan, but I also love getting my nails done and reading Jane Austen books! I just got my Associates of Applied Medical Science and hope to get my Radiologic Tech Degree in a short while! (That's a person who does CAT scans and X-Rays).My favorite movies are The Lord of the Rings movies. My favorite food is Taco Soup. My favorite book is Jane Eyre. My favorite band is Mumford and Sons. I also have 2 fake teeth... too much? And I am a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to grow up in the church. I really feel that it was a blessing for me. I was able to grow up knowing what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints teaches: I know that Heavenly Father loves me, that I can communicate with Him through prayer anytime I need to and that He wants me to succeed at whatever I do, I only need to have faith in him and work towards those goals. I also know that a 14 year old boy knelt down in prayer in a grove of trees and really did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that he did translate the Book of Mormon and that it is the word of God. As Joseph Smith once said about him seeing Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, I feel the same way: "I knew it, and I knew that God knew it." I also know that our church is headed by modern prophets who are also called of God to serve us in these latter-days. I know that Christ truly did walk this Earth and performed miracles, that still go on today. I know that he bled from every poor in Gethsemane and hung on the cross as an Atonement for all of our wrongs and sins. There have been so so many times in my life, that when I felt like I couldn't grab onto anything and I was sinking, that the Atonement and Jesus Christ were my saving grace. I don't know how i would go through some of the situations in my life, without having the knowledge that I had a Savior and Redeemer in Jesus Christ and that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me. They don't want me to fail. They want me to do the best I can and then in the next life, return to live by their side. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints is the restored church from Christs ministry. It is true. It is real. It is amazing. I testify of these things in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by simply being me. I have the personality and talents that I do because Heavenly Father gave them to me. Those talents and abilities can help others. We all have them and that is what is so beautiful about our plan to live on this Earth. We can help each other, who are all so individually unique, know how to navigate this life. I am so grateful for being a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I can feel the love of my Savior every single day as I do my Spiritual CPR. Go to Church, Pray, and Read the Scriptures. As I do those things, I feel comfort in the midst of trials and I can gain answers to my prayers. It is so amazing to know that we have a Heavenly Father and a Savior, Jesus Christ, who know us SO infinitely and with such love, that we cannot even comprehend it. They love us so much that what we can do to show that we love them is to be ourselves, do our best, keep striving to live worthy and leave the rest to them. I LOVE this Gospel. SO much!

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Emily Bradshaw
There are SO many things that say that there is a God. I will quote Ralph Waldo Emerson: "Never lose an opportunity of seeing something beautiful, for beauty is God's handwriting." I have had the blessing of growing up near the Rocky Mountains and in Utah. Utah has the most National Parks in the entire United States. Every summer my family goes somewhere in Utah to camp. Never have I felt so close or so loved by Heavenly Father as when I was just hiking through the beautiful forests and mountains. Whenever I watch nature documentaries.. which is a lot.. I also remark to my mom of how amazing everything works together and how the animals know what they are supposed to be doing, the minute after they are born. It all had to have been a pre-conceived plan set down by a higher being! I also know there is a God from being in Medical classes. I have seen how our bodies adapt and grow and move and it testifies that there is a creator! But besides those things, I know that there is a Heavenly Father because I know he hears and answers prayers. I have seen miracles in my life that there is no way they could have been coincident. If you look at times of natural disasters or horrific scenes like 9/11, many people lose themselves in the service of others. I know that this is Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost working in the hearts of those people. There is good in this world, and that in itself testifies that they is a God. Show more Show less
