Hi I'm Jackie

I was born in Japan, but grew up in California. I'm a pianist and college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. I loved all the diversity where I am from and I learned to be open and accepting of all peoples and faiths. I am half Japanese and half Caucasian. I love to play the piano and I enjoy various genres of uplifting music. I'm also into sports and love to play tennis and lacrosse. I was studying geography in college until I made the decision to go serve a mission. I am currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in the Japan Nagoya Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS church. Many people have asked me over the years why I still decide to go to church each Sunday and practice what I believe in. For me the gospel and church is a way of life that has helped me grow and overcome doubts, trails, and fears. With every experience that I have had in this life so far, I have gained a better understanding of the love that my Heavenly Father and Savior has for me, and also a better understanding of the Plan of Salvation, which is a very clear and direct plan that our Heavenly Father wants us to follow so that we can return to live with Him again. I know that the prophet Joseph Smith restored the true gospel here on the Earth in these latter-days, and that we have been entrusted by our Father in Heaven to not only share the gospel with others, but to live the gospel daily since we are fortunate enough to have the true gospel on Earth for us today. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is our living prophet today and that he holds all the keys of the Priesthood and has authority to be the spokesperson for God and that anything President Monson says is a commandment and we should listen and follow what he says. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that it holds answers to all of our problems, concerns, and questions and I truly believe that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. Lastly, I know that my Savior lives and that he is always there for me, even when I doubt myself, or when I am unsure and feel lonely. I know that I can turn to my Savior and Heavenly Father in prayer and I love to feel their warmth and love when I truly turn to them and allow them to help me. I am so grateful for this gospel because it has helped me in so many ways and has given me comfort and reassurance. I know that I am nowhere near perfect, but I always strive to be a better person each day with the help of my Savior.

How I live my faith

I love being a missionary. This opportunity that I have to serve the Lord and share his gospel to his children has helped me gain a better understanding of the love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ has for each of us. Being a missionary has been a fulfilling experience that has allowed me to gain a love and testimony of the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is truly another testament of Jesus Christ and has answers to all of the questions and trials that we have in life. The Book of Mormon, having faith in Christ, and knowing I am a child of God, brings me great happiness and joy. I want each of God's children to know that they can feel happiness and joy because I know that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ and that Christ lives.
