Hi I'm Alex Clarke

I grew up in Springfield Missouri. I wakeboard, play guitar, and sing. I'm a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have two younger brothers, and a little sister on the end, who I love more than most anything. My Dad died in a plane accident in November of 2012. It's been a really tough trial, but we've learned to trust in the Lord. I love to play guitar and sing. Ed Sheeran, Mumford and Sons, Imagine Dragons, and the Goo Goo Dolls are some personal favorites. I'm really into wake boarding, which I try to do every weekend in the summertime. I love to read, Narnia and Harry Potter are the best. I just finished building a kit car that I started with my Dad. and, as of this writing, I have been in the MTC for two weeks. I'll move on to Concepcion Chile for two years when I get to week 6. Its hard work here. I'm tired physically, mentally, and emotionally, but I could not be happier. This really is the Lords work.

Why I am a Mormon

My life has been so blessed by the gospel. I know that. A lot of people look at me and the way I choose to live and think that I'm really limiting myself with a lot of rules, but the fact of the matter is that this gospel makes me happy. I know it can make others happy. I know my savior loves me. I know families can be forever, and I know that we are led by a prophet who is led by God. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I was born a member of the church, and I gained a testimony at a young age. In school I was always sure to speak up about my beliefs no matter what. I love to share the gospel. I've been called as a missionary for the Chile Concepcion mission, which means I'll spend most of the next two years doing service and teaching people about the gospel. I try and live the way I teach, so that I can grow nearer to my savior.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Alex Clarke
The atonement is perhaps one of the best gifts we have ever been given. When God's plan was proposed, he understood that we would all make mistakes, and that there needed to be a way for us to be able to repent of our sins and return to him. Christ willingly suffered as a proxy for the sins of everyone in the world, so that if we would forsake our sins, we would be able to have our sins washed from us. Something that a lot of people don't know is that Christ didn't just suffer for our sins, but also for our sorrows. Recently, that has meant a ton to me. It means that Christ literally knows what I have been through every time I feel sad, or hurt, or alone. He understands me completely, and through him, I can overcome anything. Show more Show less
