Hi I'm Alec

I grew up mostly in Arizona and Colorado. I attended the a U.S. service academy for a year. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an oldest of seven kids. I've lived in a lot of different states and countries throughout my life. I went to college studying engineering for a year in New York (mostly core stuff, but a little about basic ship systems). I have had a small taste of military life through my schooling. I enjoy learning how things work. I enjoy working with computers and solving problems. I am an Eagle Scout. I've had experience in multiple sports to some extent and wrestled and swam in high school and I enjoy reading and participating in wholesome recreational activities with other people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Plan of Salvation is true and was put in place to help give all of Heavenly Father's children the oppurtunity to live with Him again someday. As part of that plan God has given us several resources to help us through our lives including the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and living prophets today. He has not left us on our own and has even given us His son, Jesus Christ, to atone for our sins and make sure we have the ability to succeed in his plan for us. The gospel gives direction to life and empowers us.

How I live my faith

I read the scriptures and pray and work hard to stay on the right path. I didn't have the oppurtunity to hold a calling during my year of college because of the restrictive nature of the school, but I was able to get time off to go to my sunday church meetings and I was able to attend an institute of religion class every week. Before that I was able to hold various positions in youth group leadership within the church and to hometeach. I've given several talks and lessons in church.
