Hi I'm Haley

I love biology, science fiction novels, and clouds. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a lover of life and all things virtuous, lovely, and of good report. I am living the dream as a missionary in Everett, Washington.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, but my own faith was not solid. In high school my world was crumbling and I could not fix it myself and didn't know what to do. I knew I needed something and through a wonderful seminary teacher I was inspired to turn to the scriptures. I gained a deep love of the Book of Mormon and have learned how to receive revelation through scriptures. When I prayed for my testimony to grow, for answers to questions, and for guidance my prayers were answered! I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's church restored to the earth.

How I live my faith

Every day I wake up and prepare to teach others about the joy that comes through living the gospel. I study the scriptures, weed gardens, paint walls, attend church, testify of truth, and do everything I can to become a better disciple and representative of Jesus Christ to truly become his hands!

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Haley
Mormons are not required to serve a mission, but it is a great privilege! True conversion brings the desire to invite others to come unto Christ and enjoy the happiness found in the atonement and living the gospel. Full-time missionary service is an individual's choice to dedicate their lives to finding those that are prepared to receive the gospel. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Haley
Missionaries proselyte for reasons that are individual to every missionary. The most common reason is the love they have for Jesus Christ. It fills us with light and we want to share that with everyone we possibly can! Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Haley
I know that God is there when I study the earth. When I look at a cell or the atmosphere and think about how it works and how miraculous it is that everything comes together, I know in my heart that this beautiful place was made by God. I know there is a God when I pray and receive answers and inspiration through the Holy Ghost. I know there is a God because I feel the love he has for all of us. When I teach, testify, and serve those around me I can see it in their eyes and I know that they are his children! Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Haley
A testimony is a declaration of belief in the truths that the Holy Ghost has witnessed to an individual. Our testimonies are built over time through prayer, study, experience, and keeping God's commandments. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Haley
Mormon women are individuals, just as all of God's children are! We are unique, we are imperfect, we are striving everyday to follow the path Christ has shown us. We are absolutely equal to men. We have a different role to play, but it is just as important. God created men and women to work together. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Haley
Yes! I know as surely as prophets existed in the past, we have a prophet today. God loves us, he chooses leaders, and has again given us a living prophet to guide His people. When we follow the prophet we are blessed with peace and knowledge. I know that everyone can gain a testimony of living prophets by searching the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and all that we have been taught in modern times. Show more Show less
