Hi I'm Rebecca Buechter

I grew up in Missouri. I am a State High Jump Champion, a student at BYU, and a daughter of God. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hey! I am 19 years old and am about to leave to serve in the Spain Malaga Mission. I am a young woman who has been blessed with many talents. I sing, dance, run, jump, cheer, and can whip up a talk out of thin air :) I live in the almost non-existent town in Missouri. Most people only know of it because they've gotten lost and had to stop and ask for directions. I attend church every Sunday, whether it's at my branch (45 minutes away) or another ward. I've deferred my placement at BYU. I want to study to become a cardiologist; afterall, I've been raised by two RNs. My absolute number 1 goal in my life is to marry in God's beautiful temple. My dream is to visit each and every one of God's temples here on Earth.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have always believed everything I was taught. My testimony has grown through the trials that have been placed before me as I overcame them with the Lord's help. I am often times reminded of how hard it is to follow God in the world of this time. Especially being as my family is the only LDS family in our community. During these times, I turn to prayer and the scriptures. The Book of Mormon and Holy Bible have given me more direction in life than anything else. I am grateful for these gifts we've been blessed with. I love to feel the Holy Spirit. The peaceful feeling it comforts me with is one of the things that I seek out most often. When I do not feel the Spirit, I feel empty and alone. I feel confused and lost. Everything is so much simpler with the Holy Ghost right beside me. This church is the one thing that has stayed the same my entire life. It has adapted to changes in the world, but holds to its basic principles and doctrines. I know I will never be more sure of something than I am that this is the true church and will lead us back to our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I am a Primary teacher in the Eldon Branch. I love my class and strive to share my knowledge with them each Sunday. I received my young womens medallion exactly one month before i turned 16. I wear it with confidence and the knowledge that I am on my way to becoming who God wants me to be. On the 2 year anniversary of receiving my medallion, I received my Honor Bee for going above and beyond. I am 100% for missions. It is one of the first questions I ask a young man. I believe that people grow and mature on their missions in ways that are impossible any other way. I love to serve the Lord. I love to teach His gospel and principles. I do my best to be a daughter that he can be proud of.
