Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a nerd. I love computers, building robots, and want to go into engineering. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love going on the computer, reading, making jewelry, and hanging out with friends. I will be going to college in two years and will be going into Mechanical Engineering. I love the internet and food and I am a nerd.

Why I am a Mormon

About 3-5 years ago I almost fell away from the church. Part of the reason I am still part of this gospel is because I was gifted with an annoyingly stubborn personality. I literally lived the words "Endure to the End" every day as I struggled with my spiritual faith, and with avoiding temptation. I don't have a single moment when I suddenly became fully converted because it was caused by many small things. The final step, though, was this: I had to trust the Lord, and that he knew me. I had always struggled with feeling like I had my answer, whether it was about the Book of Mormon being true, or that President Monson is a true prophet, or anything else. But I finally prayed one night and said, "Heavenly Father, you know me and you know what I can understand". Ever since then I have trusted that if Heavenly Father wants me to know something He will make sure I know it. This has helped my faith so much as I have come to realize that He does know me, does care for me, and will make sure that I will know what I need to know. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I have been able to be part of my ward's Family History Committee, a member of the presidencies in Beehives, Mia Maids, and Laurels which are all sections of the church's Young Women organization, and I've served as Seminary class president for one term my senior year. I am now on a full-time proselyting mission in Singapore until April 2015.
