Hi I'm Richi Shade

I'm a writer and a biker. I love my family. I love to serve. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm originally from Hermosillo Mexico, and came to the U.S. when I was twelve, on July of 2006. Currently living in West Jordan UT. I have five sisters, I play the flute, like going on long distance bike rides, and write sci-fi stories for fun. I like to work out and play sports, and I absolutely love food. I like history, learning new things about my ancestors, and pretty much anything that seems interesting. I love learning new things and keeping myself informed. I love my family; they mean everything to me. I am currently a missionary in the Idaho Boise Mission and this is the best thing I get to do at this point in my life! It gives me an opportunity to learn and experience new things, but also to serve others and share what I know to be true with people. I've learned that you can be an instrument in the Lord's hands if you remain worthy and are willing to help. I consider myself a happy person, and I'm grateful for the blessings Heavenly Father has given me.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a great testimony of this Church, and it makes me happy to know that I have the truth in my life. I have great examples in my family that testify to me that this is the true Church. I come from a family of missionaries, and people that have gone through much in life and have seen how the Gospel brings blessings, peace and direction in life. People that have seen for themselves that this is true, and now it is my turn. I was born and raised in the Church, and as I grew up, I was able to see the happiness and joy my parents and other family members and friends had as they lived the Gospel. As I became more aware of the responsibilities I had and the things I needed to do to live better and happy, the time came in which I had to acquire a testimony for myself that what I was taught for my whole life was the right thing to do, and so I did. And until this day, I still have that testimony bright in my heart. I know the Gospel is true, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only and true Church on this earth, and that through Jesus Christ we will be able to be happy and live accordingly to His teachings, and that one day, if we are faithful and endure to the end, we will be able to leave with Him and with our families for eternity. I know it, and that knowledge of the truth makes me happy in ways I could never feel otherwise!

How I live my faith

Simply enough, I try to do what's right everyday by keeping my commitment to follow Christ and remember Him through my actions, so my faith in Him can grow and I can come closer to Him each day. I am currently serving a mission in Boise Idaho and the surrounding areas. As missionaries we invite others to come unto Christ, and we are called to represent Him. I get to serve for two years, and during this time we are devoted to our calling and to serve the Lord and the people we see every day. We share with people the message of the Restoration; that after being lost, the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored through a prophet called of God. We follow Jesus Christ by making covenants with God and doing our best to follow His commandments, so one day we can return and live with Him and with our families for eternity. Being Mormon is a way of life that has blessed me immensely. I try to be a good person and help others in any way I can.

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

Richi Shade
We believe that by living the Gospel and being faithful and obedient to the teachings of Jesus Christ and His principles, we will be able to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again for eternity, along with our families. As sons and daughters of God, we are heirs of His kingdom, and we can live with Him again if we choose to obey Him. This is what eternal life is: living with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again for all eternity. There is no greater joy than this. Show more Show less
