Hi I'm ashton

I grew up in southern Salt Lake City. I'm a college student, an ordained minister, and a Mormon!

About Me

I'm Ashton. I'm a political science student with a minor in economics at Brigham Young University with a specific focus on Chinese Economic Politics. Learning has always been one of my greatest loves. I also play rugby as center, wing, or fullback and have enjoyed fighting competitively. I'm half Hainanese, mixed European, and Native American descent; I love culture and have had the opportunity to travel many areas of the world from Malaysia, New Zealand, and all over the United States. I've trained classically as a pianist since I was a young child and have a deep appreciation for music and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the rewards of being a member give me joy. As a practicing member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I follow God commandments and as I follow His commandments, He gives me blessings in return and I am truly happy. What I want most in this life is to be happy, and I have found that following Christ through this gospel gives me the most joy and happiness that I can receive. It brings me knowledge, grants me happiness, helps me become a better person, and helps me improve in all aspects of my life. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has helped me do this simply because it is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It is God's church and has the authority and ability to bless my life. I know these things so well that I feel comfortable testifying to any man that this is His Church and Its teachings are true, in God's holy name.

How I live my faith

While attending University I fulfilled two church callings, one as a home-teacher to several other students in my apartment complex, and as an occupation specialist. I received training through LDS family services on how to help others better their resumes and accessed tools to connect me to outside resources that allowed me to help those in my area find and improve their jobs. Now I've temporarily stopped my University education and am serving a two year religious mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints out in Georgia as a representative of Jesus Christ and a fully ordained minister :)
