Hi I'm Stan

I'm a professor, husband, & father--a simple country bumpkin from Montana who has taught around the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a teacher, I have the best job around--to help bright, talented "young" people of all ages to explore new frontiers and achieve their potential. And, I get paid to ask questions, find answers, and solve problems. As a husband and father, I have the best motivation in the world--to become a forever family. Life is good!

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel answers the great questions of life. I have liked putting puzzles together. Searching for and finding answers is fun. By the same token, searching and not finding the answers is frustrating. Growing up, I attended whichever church was located close to my home. As you might guess, this may not have been the best decision rule. I wanted to know where I came from, what the meaning of life was, what my destiny could be, and how I belonged. The closest church rule meant I went without answers. When I found the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, all the pieces of life's puzzle fell into place--at least they did intellectually and theoretically. I am still working to mold my life to fit--I guess that is part of the adventure.

How I live my faith

Enthusiastically. In our home, we pursue by four mottos. 1. Life is a grand adventure. It brings ups and downs, but they can all be beautiful experiences. 2. The love in your heart wasn't put there to stay. Love isn't love till you give it away. 3. Preparation precedes power. 4. Life is good because the gospel is true--no matter what. Faith and family make a fun and powerful combination.
