Hi I'm Kevin Cowan

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I love to swim and to play ultimate frisbee. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of four. I have three older brothers who are great examples to me and who I love. Some of my favorite hobbies our playing ultimate frisbee, I can play it for hours! And also swimming! I'm graduated from high school where I was on the swim team and had a lot of great memories on that team. Also in high school I spent most of my time just trying to make my life as happy as I could make it with my family and friends. Family and friends are everything to me! I also love meeting new people and can tend to talk peoples ears off! I love to have a fun time and I love to smile! :) I try to make everyone I'm around happy as possible! And I am about to serve in the Chile Santiago West Mission and I am so excited to serve the Lord!

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate to be born into a wonderful family that has always been strong in the church. I have been a member all my life, but that does not mean that it has always been easy. For a long time as a kid and teenager I would always just rely on my parents and family members testimonies. However, when I got the priesthood, I knew then that I needed to know if this church was the true church of God. So being a young teenager, I decided to read the Book of Mormon. I started out at the beginning of one of my summer vacations and by the end of the summer, I had finished it. I knew then that I had to take Moroni's promise that he writes in the last chapter of the Book of Mormon. As I knelt down to pray for a testimony of the book, the spirit overwhelmed me and I had an impression of the Spirit telling me that I already know it was true. From that moment, I knew that since the Book of Mormon was true that Joseph Smith really did translate it and that he was a true prophet of God who saw God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. Just from knowing that the Book of Mormon is true, it all came together for me! I am so grateful for this church and I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father who loves me and wants the best for me and has blessed me with the opportunity to come to earth and to learn and grow so that I can be just like him. I can't describe in words, my gratitude I have for the Savior. I know Jesus Christ was crucified and that he did it out of love for me, and that he suffered for my sins in the Garden of Gethsemane and because of his selflessness, I can use his Atonement to become clean. I can't express enough my love for Jesus Christ and for his teachings and for this gospel! I wish everyone could know of this amazing gospel and the blessings it gives and this is why I am a Mormon! I so testify in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

As I right now, I am one of the newest elders in my ward, however I spent a majority of my time in the Aaronic priesthood in quorum presidencies. I have been secretary and president in all my deacon, teacher, and priest quorums. I love being a leader and to help other with their needs! I strive to always be a leader and a role model so that way others can look to me as a man of faith and a great example to follow.
