Hi I'm Amber

I grew up in Armona California. I have a son and a wonderful husband. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently a stay-at-home mommy. I have been going to school to become a large animal vet (Cow, horses, and sheep etc.) Animals are my passion and I love helping the afflicted. I have other hobbies that I love to do with my son; we enjoy crafting and painting together. Whenever I have a few moments by myself I tend to read a lot or crochet. I enjoy to play softball and other sports. While I am still in California, I long to be in Texas closer to my family. My biggest passion I would say is definitely my church. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The most positive impact that has come out of my joining the church would be my happiness. Before I joined the LDS Church I was headed down a dark and dangerous path. The Gospel has brought me so much love and a lot less heartache.

Why I am a Mormon

The way I became Mormon is an interesting story. My child-hood and teenage years were very rocky and very traumatizing for me. I lived in an abusive household with a absent father and a very abusive mother and step-father. The whole situation was very volatile. After I turned 18 I became very rebellious. I began drinking and smoking and participating in some very unwholesome activities. I eventually met my husband who pulled my head out of the clouds and brought me back to reality. He showed me what it was like to have a real family and that life wasn't what my perception of it was. There was good in the world and there was kindness. He introduced me to my first Missionaries and as soon as my first discussion was over I k that KNEW what these young men were sharing was TRUE. It made me shake and an overwhelming feeling of confirmation and truth washed over me. Later that year around Christmas time I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. By far this has been the best decision I have ever made in my life. I Love the gospel and all that it has to offer. I know that this Church is THE ONE AND ONLY True Church, I know that It was restored by Joseph Smith and that we have a prophet that walks upon this earth today. Before I joined I always thought Mormons were weird or they had unusual practices. When I joined I learned that all the assumptions I had were false. Everything my church stands for is true and I believe it with all my heart. I have no idea where I would be without the Gospel but I know that if I never found it I would not have the happiness I have in my life right now and for the last 6 years.

How I live my faith

As a counselor for the Young Women's program I am constantly searching for ways to engage our young women of the church in the Gospel. I am their friend, their teacher and confidant. I love to participate in Sunday School. I learn so much and am constantly soaking up knowledge and growing in Faith. Whenever there are members that are going through some hard times we help by providing meals. Normally my mother-in-law and I will go in together on a meal and be able to bring a little love and care to someone who really needs it. So far, I love my calling as a Young Women's Personal Progress Leader. I enjoy watching these young women grow in faith and in the gospel. This program gives such wonderful examples to live by.
