Hi I'm Colleen

I was born in S.L.C., Utah & still live there. I am a Costume Technician for a Professional Theatre, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been working in the Theatre making Costumes for almost 35 years. I have met many people from different States and Countries through my job. The Theatre is affiliated with a University and I have worked with many Students also. This has been a job that produces about 11 shows a season. It provides me with great satisfaction. I am always learning new techniques. I make Costumes from all periods of time. No, season's shows are the same from year to year. Because of my job I also have seen over a thousand shows. I have time off from my job during June and July. When I was younger I liked to travel. It was wonderful to meet people from around the world. Now because of health reasons, I can't travel very much. I spend my summers searching out my family history. I am slowly learning how to use the computer to help me in that work. I enjoy Family Reunions. Many of my relatives are getting older and I want to enjoy their company as long as they are here on Earth. I also live with my elderly Mother and we take care of each other. I hope that she will be with me as long as she is happy in her life. I have no children, so I have borrowed my nephews and nieces. I love them all very much and enjoy their company. In my spare time I love to read, crochet, and knit.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have studied the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. I have attended church and have heard talks, had lessons and dicussions about the Doctrines of the Chuch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint. I have prayed to God as I studied and had a witness through the Holy Ghost that this church is true. I was raised by very faithful parents. They taught me the gospel as I grew up. They also were a great example to me, by living the gospel. I am priviledged to give a lot of service through my church activity. I have also recieved service and love from others. The Doctrines of this gospel gives me hope that I will be with my loved ones again after death (I have two brothers and my Father who have died). This is a blessing and comfort to me. The gospel helps me to try harder to be a better person and overcome my many faults. It gives purpose to my life. I know that God is our Eternal Father and he loves us. He wants us to have joy in this life and return to His presence. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. He paid the price for our sins. I feel the presence of the Holy Ghost in my home. He gives us peace and comfort through the trials our life (My Mother & I).

How I live my faith

I live my faith by study, prayer, and faith. I try to serve others as much as my health permits. I found that when I serve others, I learn to love them more. I try to contribute to good causes that help people. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has wonderful welfare and humanitarian services. I try to support family and friends who are parents. They have a huge responsibility as they raise God's children. I love the little children and I was very privileged to serve in the Church's Primary program. This program helps to teach the children the gospel at church and through activities. There is also a program in the church that myself and another woman are assigned to visit three other women. I love this program. I have made some of my best friends through this program. We get the chance help each other or just to enjoy each other's company. This a way that we can watch over each other. Christ's gospel is about Love.
