Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a biology major. I'm a big and little sister. I'm energetic and friendly. And, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a biology major with a human biology emphasis and a spanish minor attending BYU-I (Brigham Young University - Idaho). I'm hoping to attend PA (Physician's Assistant) school at the University of Utah in a few years. I love animals; back home I have 5 horses, 4 dogs, 2 roosters, and several barn cats. I love being outside especially in the water. I love working out and running, it's my favorite hobby. I have tons of friends all over the United States, who I love to visit. I like driving I prefer it over flying. I like reading though I don't read as much as I should anymore. I'm very impulsive and love adventures.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because it felt right. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints contained all the happiness and fullness that I needed in my life. I wasn't always Mormon and made the decision on June 2nd 2012 to be baptized. I was introduced to the church by a friend, who by her love and friendship made me interested in what made her so different/special. I ended up attending church with her one Sunday and for me in that moment everything clicked. I felt the spirit that day testifying to me that this church was where I belonged and I needed to look into it more. With every lesson and every talk I read I felt more strongly that this was the place for me. Though I came from a slightly religious background this was the first time anything had actually made sense in my heart and mind. I am so grateful for my testimony and it is one of the things that I cherish most in this world. I would invite everyone to attend a church, to listen to the missionaries, and to read the message of love and of the savior contained in the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving others. I try to emulate the savior by looking at the potential and goodness that is in the individual rather than their not so awesome qualities. I believe that people can change if given the opportunity, so I try give them that. I try to take every opportunity to serve others whether it is big or small and I try to build friendships. I live my faith by being positive and being a light for others (of my faith and not) to turn to. I attending my meetings every sunday and do the little things (reading my scriptures and prayer).

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is like being apart of a giant family spread throughout the entire world. It gives you a sense of security and happiness that is hard to find without the gospel. Being Mormon most importantly means being close to your Heavenly Father and understanding that you are never alone for he is always with you. Show more Show less
