Hi I'm Tanner

I am a baseball addict, snowmobile junkie, pickup driving country music lover, family loving Mormon!

About Me

Well hi there! My name is Tanner, and I love a lot of things. First of all I love my Family, they are everything to me. I have three younger siblings, McKenna, Reganne, and Porter, along with a few cousins and really good friends that I consider basically siblings. Just about anything I do is in some way, shape or form involved with this group of people. Often you will find me at a rodeo cheering my sisters on from the grandstands, in the mountains on a snowmobile with my Dad, brother, and friends, coaching my little brothers baseball game from the sidelines, or on a baseball field myself. Other things I enjoy include listening to music, fixing and building things, driving big trucks and equipment, hunting, 4-wheelers, and the occasional night of wreaking havoc with my friends. So to sum it all up, I love anything to do with family, friends, outdoors, sports, building things, and church. Just about everything I do falls into one or more of those categories, and I love it. I have been very blessed in my short 20 years of life and I hope to help others receive some of these same blessings.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was initially born into it, but I have learned for myself that this gospel is true. It hasn't been any one event in my life leading up to my decision that I love this gospel, but simply a series of small steps leading to the testimony I have now. I love this church with all my heart and wouldn't give it up for anything in this world. It has brought me more joy than anything the world has to offer. I have learned that even though no one in this life is perfect, you can find forgiveness and happiness for your mistakes through Christ and his gospel. I know he and our Heavenly Father live, and they speak to us today through their mouthpieces, living prophets. I know they receive revelation concerning our day and age. I know the Book of Mormon is the most true book of any book on the face of the earth and that if you read it with real intent, it can lead to true happiness. I know families can be together forever through our own obedience and the power of the priesthood. Those are just a few of the reasons I am Mormon and why I decided to serve a mission. This gospel and this church have brought me more happiness than I could ever imagine, and it is a happiness that is lasting and eternal. I want to share that with anyone who wants that in their life, which I think is everyone. Everyone wants to be happy, and that is what I will be trying to do for two years is bring people happiness.

How I live my faith

Well to start off I have always been involved in some way in church activities. I love to provide service to those who are in need and less fortunate than I am. I strive to constantly seek for those kinds of opportunities. Currently I am serving a full-time two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the California San Diego mission. Everything I do for the next two years is to help others receive the blessing that come from faith in Jesus Christ. I have also been very involved in a young mens program that is facilitated by the church ever since I was 12 years old, helping to plan activities that help teach young men good values and create a unique bond between the young men involved. I have tried to live these values my whole life, trying to make the church not something that I do on Sunday, but a lifestyle that promotes good values and morals.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Tanner
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is something that is not easily put into words. In fact there is no way to truly comprehend let alone describe the entirety of it. But the simple answer is Christ's suffering, subsequent death on the cross, and resurrection for each and every one of us for not only our sins, but also for the pains that accompany this mortal life. He did it so He could know how to "succor His people" as it describes in Alma chapter 7, so we as imperfect beings could have the ability to overcome those imperfections and become as He is, with a perfect and immortal body, living in the presence of Him and our Heavenly Father. He was the only man who could have every done what He did, because He was the Son of God. He set the perfect example for us, and as we follow that example by continuously exercising faith in Christ, repenting of our sins, being baptized and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost by someone holding the authority to do so, we overcome our weaknesses and may return to live with Him.
