Hi I'm Patrick

I grew up in California. I served a mission in Argentina. And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I've been involved in music and sports my entire life. I play the trumpet and piano. As for sports, I have been in wrestling, soccer, and now play ultimate frisbee for fun with my friends. I served a mission in Argentina and loved it! I love latin culture and definitely the language. Oh! And the food. I really love to learn and have a huge desire to study math which is strange I know, but quite exciting at the same time. Some other hobbies and interests I have are fishing, camping, paintballing. Basically anything outdoors. I also enjoy building things. I built my own computer and also my own longboard. I also consider myself outgoing. So I'm always willing to try new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised by my parents who are members of this church so I have attended regularly since birth. My grandparents on both sides of my family are converts. Having chosen to follow this path (because I still had to know for myself if this is where the truth was) has changed my life completely. In many instances during my life I have sat down and thought about where I would be if I had not learned the standards that were taught to me, the friends I have acquired, and the leaders and mentors in my life. I always figured I would not be in the same happy mental/emotional state that I am now. It's been a grand blessing in my life to have been born and raised in this church. Now having grown up quite a bit and have had the opportunity to leave home and serve a mission for this church has added so much depth to the reason why I keep following this path. For two main reasons. First, I know who I really am, why I'm here on earth, and where I am going dependant on my faithfulness to God's commandments. And that's a big deal to me. And I can honestly say that many people in the world desire to know these simple truths. Which leads to reason two. And that is that I was able to take that knowledge and share it with other people and quite literally watch it take hold in them and change them completely. There has not been a more satisfying feeling throughout my life, than being able to watch that change that I had in my life happen to someone else. I know every ounce of happiness in my life can be traced back to my roots in this church and what I have learned here. Having these beliefs gives me a sense of purpose in life. I know that as I continue to learn more and apply those teachings to my life I will continue to grow and get closer to my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I love to serve others. My opportunity for service in the church is currently helping the members of my congregation get more involved in missionary work. Another responsibility I have is to watch out for the new investigators of the missionaries, recent converts, and less active members and make sure their needs are met. I know the most important thing we can do in this life is show God that we love him. We do that by keeping his commandments. As I read my scriptures, pray daily, attend church I come closer to my Heavenly Father and feel his love and satisfaction for me. It's all about learning everyday and making those adjustments in my life to become like Christ. Some things are harder than others but as we continue to push and keep in line with the path Christ has set, we will never go wrong.
